Brand Creation – Personal Branding Basics

Brand creation is vital to your online business.  There are many branding strategies you can use to come from being unknown… to becoming an online household word.  Personal branding is just one action plan.   It’s a basic promotional strategy.

Here are a couple of tips you can use for personal branding.

1.  DOMAIN NAME STRATEGY: Purchase your own name at Go Daddy.  If your name has already been taken, purchase your name with your middle name or middle initial included.

You can use your name as the main domain name and title of your blog.  If you use this method, you will want to use a strong subtitle in your blog header so folks will know immediately what your blog is about.

If your blog already has a domain name… all is not lost.  Simply purchase your name and forward it to the main domain URL of your blog.  (At Go Daddy remember to give a description of your blog and fill in the keyword box.)

Then… you can use both names in your correspondence and conversations.  If you’re in a store…and someone asks for the name of your blog site… simply give them your name.  It may be  easier to remember than the URL you have given your site.  Your name will take them directly to your blog or website.

2.  SEO STRATEGY: You want the search engines to find you.  Using your own name as a domain name is first.  Also, use  your name in your tweets, signatures, articles, and comments.  Provide your name every where you can.  You want your name to become an internet household word.

Place your name in the  “All In One SEO” keyword box. (If you don’t have the “All In One SEO Pack” plug in on your WordPress site… it’s a must!)   Actually, putting  your name in the SEO keyword box is more important that in your tags.

Now… go and increase your personal brand….your name!
